200 Hour Course Dates Dates for Karuna 200 hour Teacher Training 2010-11 (there will be no meeting in August) March 27-28, 2010 April 17-18, 2010 May 29-30, 2010 June 26-27, 2010 July 24-25, 2010 September 25-26, 2010 October 23-24, 2010 November 20-21, 2010 December 18-19, 2010 January 22-23, 2011 February 26-27, 2011 The 200 Hour course meets on the weekend, 10am-6pm on Saturdays, and 9am-5pm on Sundays. In addition, you will assist 10 of Eileen's 2-hour classes throughout the year. There will be no meeting in August. Tuition: $2000 Application Fee: $300 (non-refundable) Books and Props: Call for info, (413) 584-5054 Payment can be paid by check or online in four installments of $500 and an additional $300 non-refundable application fee included in the first installment (Totaling $2300). There is a $200 reduction in tuition for those who pay the full tuition by Feb. 1st 2010. 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training at the Yoga Loft in Albany New York 300 Hour Course Dates
This 300-hour advanced training continues from the 200-hour training to complete the 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification. This advanced study will mature your understanding and refine your teaching skills. This training is recommended for teachers and advanced students who wish to:
The 300-hour advanced course will be offered in the form of modules, often involving pre-reading assignments and other prep work. There are 6 modules:
These 6 Modules take place in five segments of three weekend trainings. Anatomy takes place in each of the 5 segments to make up the 6th Module. The training is on Weekends—Saturdays 12:00-8:00 and Sundays 9:00-5:00. The total cost is $3,500. Payment for the training is divided into 5 payments of $700.00. The first payment is due Dec. 1st, 2009. Each payment is due on the first of the month prior to the beginning of the module. Since 2000 has also studied with teachers of non-dual awareness, including Adyashanti, and has incorporated that into his teaching. He is guiding teacher of the Bodhisara Dharma Community in Amherst, Massachusetts, on the teacher’s council at Insight Pioneer Valley in Easthampton, and is the adjunct religious advisor to Buddhist students at Amherst College. Mark holds a Ph.D. in theology and an MA in counseling and has a private practice of psychotherapy in Amherst.
Megan Frazier (Experiential anatomy) Megan Frazier has always loved the exploration of the body, both as a dancer and as an anatomist. She holds an MFA in dance from Smith College and a BS in biology and dance from Denison University. Megan was first introduced to yoga in high school by her modern dance teacher, and the practice kept her sane during three years in the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa. She holds a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy, and believes it is her calling to teach people about the human body. Edwin Bryant (Yoga Sutras of Patanjali)
Edwin Bryant received his doctorate in Indic languages, philosophies and cultures from Columbia University. He taught Hinduism at Harvard University for three years, and is presently professor of Hindu religion and philosophy at Rutgers University. He has been a practitioner of bhakti yoga for twenty-five years, a number of them spent in India. He has published six books and numerous articles on Vedic culture, yoga and the Krishna tradition, and has just completed a translation of Patanjali's Yoga sutras with extracts from the traditional commentators.
Qurban Khalsa (Yoga Philosophy) Qurban Khalsa has been studying, practicing and teaching yoga for over 30 years. He spent 20 years living in an ashram, where he practiced Bhakti yoga, karma yoga, and Jnana yoga. He believes yoga asana is too often taught with no real understanding of the goal of yoga, and he is passionate about integrating the eight limbs of yoga as both an ancient mystical path and as a practical guide for modern living.
